Never stay near the busy intersections

Waiting in the middle of a busy intersection can put you at risk of being involved in another accident or cause traffic issues for other vehicle holders and pedestrians. So it is always advised to move your vehicle to a safer location if possible.

Avoid being on the narrow roads

If you’re on a road with narrow shoulders or limited space, it’s better to find a safer area to wait if possible. If the roads are narrow, then you would be too close to passing traffic, increasing the chance of being hit by the vehicles passing out on the way.

Blind curves or sharp turns are not always advised

Avoid waiting around blind curves or sharp bends in the road because oncoming drivers may not be aware that you are waiting and may not see you until it’s too late, thereby increasing the risk of accidents.

Highways 

Usually, vehicles travel at a greater speed on the highways than usual so staying on the highways while waiting for roadside assistance may be extremely dangerous. So if possible and your vehicle is in moving condition, then exit the highway and find a safer location.

Similarly, if you are staying on the quicker highways avoid staying out of your car or standing very close to your car in the front or near the doors, keep the hazard board near your car and stay inside the car until the roadside assistance team contacts you.

Dark or isolated areas might be dangerous

It’s best to avoid waiting in dark or isolated areas, especially at night. Because the isolated areas are not only prone to criminal activity like theft but also make it difficult for the roadside assistance team to locate you once they reach.

Unstable or soft ground may cause further damage

The type of soil or ground where you are staying with your vehicle until the roadside assistance team arrives is highly important. If you are staying in a soft or muddy place the chance that your vehicle tyres may sink or stick increases.

If your vehicle is stranded near a construction zone, try to pull over to the safer location

Waiting in construction zones can be hazardous due to ongoing work, narrow lanes, and distracted drivers. If possible, move your vehicle out of the construction zone to a safer spot.

Staying on the roads is always dangerous
